Along the Pacific Coast there is a lot of rain, so these states have thick green forests. The forest are used for lumber. The temperatures are mild. Other areas that are far from the ocean get less rain. In the mountains the air is very cold and there is a lot of snow.
If you visit this region you will see many pine, spruce, cedar, and white oak tress. People grow tulips, roses, and other beautiful flowers. In the spring there are many wildflowers.
Along the coat salmon fishing is a big industry. In the Pacific Ocean there are whales, dolphins, sea lions, crabs and many kinds of fish. Eagles, hawks and owls circle the skies.
