The Southeast is warm most of the time. It is often humid. That means there is a lot of moisture in the air. Some areas of the Southeast get a lot of rain. Some areas are drier. Many birds to the Southeast in the winter. So do many people! They come to enjoy the warm sun at the beaches of the Southeast.
The Southeast has a wide variety of plants and animals. In the wetter areas there are trees and swamps. The Southeast has pine, oak, walnut, beech and cypress trees. Many beautiful flowers grow in the Southeast like Azaleas, violets, mountain laurel and other wild flowers.
Shrimp, clams, oysters and catfish live in the waters. Alligators and snakes live in the swamps. Cardinals, blue jays and robins fly through the air. Bears, deer, skunks, foxes, and lizards are just some of the animals that make their home in the southeast.
