What is Learner-centered Accessibility?

Objective:

To develop a general understanding on learner-centered accessibility.

Learner-Centered Accessibility Defined

Learner-centered accessibility is a term used to describe courses (both online and face-to-face) that are designed from their conception with the potential learner in mind. The focus of the design is on the potential learner and is designed to meet the needs of all potential users.

Due to the wide variety of potential learners of post-secondary courses, it would be impossible to meet the needs of every single learner that may potentially take the course. However, by having the knowledge of these learners and keeping these learners in mind in the development stage, it is possible to design courses that are learner-center accessibile.
