This course was developed to assist course designers in implementing and designing learner-center accessible courses.

 

Course Objectives:

a. Define learner-centered accessibility
b. Develop an awareness of the legal requirements for accessibility in public education organizations
c. Recognize the factors inhibiting accessibility
d. Develop learner-centered accessibility strategies for instruction
e. Implement learner-centered accessibility strategies for instruction
f. Become familiar with and utilize tools for accessing accessibility

Overview

This course is intended to provide information to create learner-centered accessibility in online and face to face environments and to provide a general overview of strategies and techniques. Individuals who wish to learn more regarding design and issues related to accessibility are encouraged to check out the resource page which contains links to more in-depth information on various topics.

Course Navigation Structure.

The course is set up into three separate Modules. Module 1 introduces the learner to Learner-Accessibility, the legal requirements for making courses accessible, and a brief description of the various issues that affect learners. Module 2 focuses on designing accessible learner-centered web courses, while Module 3 focuses on developing accessible learner-centered courses in face-to-face environments. The Table of Contents will allow you to move to specific pages within the course for quick reference. While the navigation bar allows you to proceed through each module of the complete course.
