You are about to embark on a journey into the past. You will become a detective looking for clues.  As you gather clues you will discover the answers to these questions. Who am I? Where do I come from?  How have the decisions made by my ancestors affected me? 

As you discover the answers to these questions you will begin to understand  the connections between historical events and your life and how these events help you to understand yourself, and your place in the world.

As you go through each lesson you will gather clues and learn how to use these clues to open the doors to the past. Before you begin the Unit make sure you have created a student portfolio on your computer so that you can save your activities in this portfolio. Now that you have done this you are ready to begin your journey.
