Muskrat.....All animals need food and shelter to survive. The muskrat is able to take care of these two survival needs by building a unique home. Muskrats build their lodge out of cattails. In the winter, they can eat the walls of their lodge for food. Pretty amazing! Did you notice the Canada Goose who made a nest on top of the muskrat lodge? Muskrats aren't the only animals that use the lodge; other animals use the lodge for food, shelter, and a place to rest.
