Crayfish and Bullfrogs

Not only are non-native plants a threat to wetland eco-systems but so are non-native animals. Sometimes people make ponds in their backyards and put in animals that are not found in their area. Sometimes these animals escape and get into the wild.

Occasionally, these non-native animals are introduced into areas for sporting reasons, such as many fish that are found in lakes that have been created by dams. Sometimes these animals eat up the food needed by other animals and make the food source scare. This means that native animals must compete for their food or find it elsewhere.

In Arizona Crayfish and Bullfrogs have threatened many wetland eco-systems.
