Salt Cedar Did you know that all the plants and animals species you see around have not always been there? What happens when humans introduce non-native species into an eco-system? Many species have been introduced accidentally or on purpose into regions that they were not originally found. Some have entered without a problem, others have become a threat to native species. Unfortunately, this is not good. Many non-native species introduced into wetland areas soon take over an crowd native species out. Many animals rely on these native species for food and shelter. When these native species are not available the animals have to find another place to go. Sometimes the can't and become endangered or worse extinct. The Salt Cedar is such a non-native species that is threatening Arizona and other wetland areas.
