» Bullfighters:
We all know Bullfighters are the unsung hero's of rodeo and bull riding. Fortunately that's changing and they're getting the recognition they deserve. This recognition comes in the form of Sponsors and Fans, and us bull riders can contribute by understanding what it is they do.
Bullfighters will most likely work with contractors they know. The knowledge they have of each bull range from patterns, delivery, experience, how much gate to give, all the way to open arenas or turn backs. One Bullfighter told me once that the bull I'd drawn doesn't like deep arena's, and sure enough he didn't.
Bullfighters will use this "bull-savy" knowledge to work each bull. When the ride is over, one Bullfighter will be on the head end to try and line the bull out. The other will keep an eye on the rider and step in and distract the bull if needed. But do remember, they can only keep a bulls attention long enough for you to get away.
Not only are they life savers; but Bullfighters can also "start" a bull into a spin and help you be a bunch of points. And they're seldom noticed when they execute their game plans.
Bullfighters are professional athletes, always let them know you appreciate them.
