Northern Arizona University (Flagstaff, Arizona) is home to Delta Eta Chapter, part of Omicron Province. With twelve active members and four alumnae faculty members, the chapter is thriving. This is especially impressive considering that in August 2003, the chapter had only two active members, one of whom later resigned.

Delta Eta Chapter was installed on May 18, 1963, with Mrs. Jeanette Kirk, National President, presiding as the installing officer. Chapter members included Judy Adams, Nickola Birden, Jenna Brinkhoff, Bonnie Brooks, Helen Dunham, Kathleen Hagsett, May McCurdy, Diana Richards, Jeanne Schmalhousen, and Janis Smith. Patroness member Dr. Margret Pipes was also initiated at the chapter chartering.

The graduation of the final charter members was celebrated in May 1966. A senior farewell service was held in the home of Dr. and Mrs. Eldon Ardrey, Dean of the College of Creative Arts. It was fitting that this beautiful service was in the Ardrey's home, as they were responsible for the initiation of members of Delta Phi Alpha, Mu Alpha Chapter (National Men's Music Honorary) and Sigma Alpha Iota, Delta Eta Chapter. In 1970, Dr. Ardrey passed on, but the members of SAI remember him with love and deep gratitude, as it was through his efforts that Delta Eta Chapter was founded.

Thus, Delta Eta Chapter continues to grow, both in membership and ties to the community. Many all of her members grow together as true sisters and remain loyal to the ideals of Sigma Alpha Iota.
