3/2006-12/2007 Geotechnical Engineer I, Call & Nicholas
Inc. (CNI),
Responsibilities
included data collection and data analysis for open-pit slope design,
collecting geomechanical and oriented-core data, mapping of major structures
and rock fabric, reviewing laboratory test results, processing data, performing
slope-stability and bench-scale analysis and preparing and co-writing final
geotechnical reports. Technical/Computer knowledge includes the following
programs: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
applications, FORTRAN, Slope/W, UTEXAS, and various CNI-developed probabilistic
stability programs.
Major projects included
Phelps Dodge (PD) El Abra 2006 Geotechnical Slope Evaluation, PD Morenci 2007
American Mountain Phase 2 Slope Evaluation, PD Climax Molybdenum feasibility
project, and PD Cerro Verde 2007 Geotechnical Slope Evaluation.
9/2005–2/2006 Survey Technician, EGR & Associates,
Responsibilities
included assisting crew chief in all tasks involved in boundary and elevation
surveys including; searching for property and control monuments, planning
survey routes, erecting property monuments, and traversing over very rugged
terrain. Experience with survey prisms and Nikon DTM Total Station.
7/2004–8/2005 Laboratory Technician, Amino Acid
Geochronology Lab., NAU,
Responsibilities
included preparing samples for amino acid analysis by ion exchange and by
reverse-phase liquid chromatography; following procedures for scientific
analysis; compiling, indexing, analyzing, and assessing the quality of data;
and maintaining records in laboratory notebook.
