Mr. Lumberjack Pageant
an NAU Homecoming tradition
Thursday, Oct. 20, 6:30 p.m. Observatory Field Homecoming week at NAU is an excitement-packed time for students to show their school spirit, and Kayettes' annual Mr. Lumberjack Pageant is one of Northern Arizona University’s longest-running homecoming traditions. For nearly four decades, the NAU Kayettes have invited student contestants to take the stage to show their school spirit and compete for an impressive prize package that includes a variety of gift certificates from local businesses. The lucky winner also rides with Kayettes in the Oct. 22 Homecoming parade through downtown Flagstaff. A panel of staff and students from across campus will judge contestants in three categories: arms, talent and question-and-answer. Judges will use their discretion to determine who most deserves the title of “Mr. Lumberjack.” Two runners-up also will be named and will walk away with generous consolation prizes, also donated by local sponsors. All are welcome at this free event. Come and cheer on your favorite contestant. Or better yet, if you think you'd make a great Mr. Lumbejack, download your application by clicking here. Complete the form and submit it to the ASNAU Office in the University Union by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011. |
