North Wilson Excellent hike, way better than South Wilson. Starts in old-growth forested canyon, then climbs very steeply up to the very scenic First Bench. Cross the bench and meet South Wilson (end of N. Wilson trail), turn right and climb forested switchbacks to the top of Wilson. Here you can go left or right. Left fork eventually takes you to a dramatic overlook of Sedona and surrounding Red Rocks Right fork continues a few miles through a really nice forest to a great overlook of upper Oak Creek, upper Dry Creek and with the Peaks in the background. Distance each way is about 5 or 6 miles. |
