AB Young

This well-designed and maintained trail switchbacks up the west
wall of Oak Creek Canyon. The beginning of it can be tricky to find... park
at the Halfway Picnic Area, scramble down to the creek, cross, and follow
the path upstream a short ways to the beginning of the AB Young trail. Its
not always that simple! After you reach the rim, there are nice basalt
ledges off to the left, offering great views and a nice place to stop. Trail
continues another mile or so up to East Pocket lookout. This part is not so
interesting, but climbing the tower is fun. South-facing so OK in winter and
way hot in summer.
