Welcome to the zeppelin SnowDrifter, flagship of Southwest Defense Co.
and home to its squadrons, currently tasked with protecting Arixo and other
nearby countries from acts of air piracy.
Southwest Defense is a fan-group based around the fictional 1930s alternate-history world of Crimson Skies, in which the United States fractures into approximately 20 independent countries following the stock-market crash of 1929. With hostile borders everywhere, trains and automobiles become impractical, and these new North American nations turn to the airplane as a primary means for transportation and shipping... which leads to rampant air piracy. Crimson Skies originated as a table-top board game and RPG, before being turned into a successful PC flight-simulator game in 2000, and most recently, a popular XBox game, "Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge". Interested in finding out more about Crimson Skies? Go to CrimsonSkies-Universe, run by Microsoft, which is full of information about various planes, countries, companies, pirates, and pilots which populate the late 1930s in Crimson Skies. Curious about the PC game? Check out the trailer for the game, available here, or try out the demo of the game here. Want to see footage of the XBox game? Check out the trailer (right-click the link, "Save Target As"). This group primarily plays the PC game, both as a group and on the Microsoft Gaming Zone, but has also branched off into the new XBox game and the miniatures game recently released by WizKids, as well as the occasional fan-fiction. We generally just like to have fun and have a good time flying planes and blowing stuff up. If you're interested in learning more about Crimson Skies, or perhaps joining our ranks for some high-flying, rip-roaring action and adventure, feel free to contact Damon "Patch" Dellamarggio. To the left you will see the site menu. This obviously leads to other parts of the site. The Bridge returns you to the homepage. The Radio Room is where all incoming transmissions are posted, such as updates to the site content, new members to the group, etc. The Archives provides a brief history of the SnowDrifter and Southwest Defense within the context of the Crimson Skies universe. The Crew Quarters provide biographical data for the SnowDrifter's current crew compliment, including the members of the primary active squadron, Dagger Squadron, the primary training squadron, Cutlass Squadron, and the airship support staff. Recruiting lists current requirements for application and acceptance into each of the SnowDrifter's three service areas. We rarely actively recruit, as we generally prefer members who are motivated, and willing and able to contribute to the group in one form or another. Tactical provides hints, tips, and walkthroughs for the various Crimson Skies games, written by Southwest Defense staff. Engineering includes statistical and numerical data for various planes and armaments in the Crimson Skies videogames, guaranteed to increase your efficiency in combat. The Lounge is where pilots and staff share stories about their experiences, sometimes with a bit of exaggeration and embellishment. Enjoy some of the fan-fiction written by members of the group. The Docking Hook includes links to relevant Crimson Skies websites, and other websites of interest. Security houses all of the copyright and legal information for this website. |
