Results

Site 3 on Upper Lake Mary was significantly different from both Lower Lake Mary Sites as well as the other Upper Lake Mary Site in pH and measurements of concentrations of dissolved Carbon Dioxide and Oxygen. It also was different in number and types of animal and plant life observed. Sites 2 and 4 were significatly different from both sites 1 and 3 in pH. All sites had about the same water temperature.

This graph compares mean (out of four measurements) values of pH and concentrations of dissolved Carbon Dioxide and Oxygen at the four different sites. All measurements here show significant (at 5%) differences between site 3 and the other three sites. Sites 2 and 4 were similar in dissolved oxygen content but both sites 1 and 3 were significantly different from them.

The sites were each visited twice at different times of the morning (see data) on June 12 and June 17, 1998. Temperature varience seemed to be associated with time of day and not with site. Mean temperatures showed very little difference.
