This research was done to determine if there was a relationship between the size of various bodies of water that have been cut off from Lower Lake Mary and the health of the the water. Characteristics examined included the number of living species, DO levels, pH, carbon dioxide levels, temperature, and hardness. The hypothesis was that the smaller bodies of water would be less 'healthy'.
Results showed that the hypothesis was false. As a general rule, smaller bodies were quite healthy, showing many more species of life and higher DO levels.
