First meeting of the semester is Wednesday, January 18th 7:30 PM at the Campus Coffee Bean. All officers must attend if interested in staying on the board, and all members are urged to attend, as this will be purely planning, budgeting and brainstorming. If members are unable to attend, but would like to add input before the meeting, they are welcome to do so as well, but be sure to include the following: Meeting times you can always attend and any ideas you have for this upcoming semester.
Meeting Minutes:
January 18, 2006
Officer's MeetingFor our first event/group meeting, we're hoping to get together at Dr. Antes' ranch in April and make atlatls on February 5th. We will email the group when we
have details. Unless there are objections, we would like to have people pay $5 to cover the cost of materials for the atlatls.
We are going to have big events/field trip/excursions on the last Sunday of every month (or as close to this day as possible), which gives us three dates for trips.
Our proposed events (not set in stone, by any means) are:
Dr. Antes ranch, hopefully in April, the last trip we will have.
Wupatki trip with Dr. Downum or a rock art trip with Dr. Gillpin.
The Primitive Living Skills class that Mike took last semester.
The Wednesday following our events, we will have a meeting to help plan the next trip and to brainstorm about fundraising and other activities, maybe have guest speakers, etc. We haven't fixed a room yet, but it will be at 5pm.
The next actual meeting will be on February 5th, 2005 at 5pm.
The last meeting of the semester will be on May 3rd. We are hoping to have a small party at someone's house (volunteers, anyone?).
We are going to try and lure some more faculty and grad students into the club, so we can have more active participants. No real plan or design for how
we are going to accomplish this, perhaps fliers?
Teresa, our treasurer, is going to see about getting more money for the club from NAU. She is also going to call Student Life and asking if we can have a room in the Union for our club. Teresa is also going to purchase more food for the snack bar.
Randy is going to take over the task of getting T-Shirts for the club. He is going to try and get them done ASAP from somewhere in town.
Kristen is going to call Nicole about getting a room for the meeting in SBS. She is also going to be taking over the Emeritus Faculty project. As a group we decided to sever it from the club meetings, because of the lack of
interest/motivation from the general population of the club. We will be setting up a separate group to get this completed at a quicker pace. Kristen will also be calling the Skydome to see about working a game to raise money
for the club.
Mike is going to be in charge of another fundraising activity. We are going to set up a table somewhere central to campus and have people pay to throw whipped cream pies at other people. If you have any suggestions or want to help, please let him know.
Someone (Kristen, any other people who would like to help) is going to get new fliers with our meeting times and places to put up around campus. Any help hanging them would be greatly appreciated! Once we know dates, we are
also going to make fliers for each specific trip we take, starting with the atlatl making.Return to Minutes List
