Sectionals: April 13th (WF Killip Middle School)

March 30th: ASU Invite

Overall Record: 4-0, 1st place

Phoenix Club: 10-5, after overhearing them say, “Lets take it easy this game, and just roll on through to the finals” We come out on a 6-2 run, and don’t let up finishing strong. MVP: Lobo, with an obscene 85+% completion rate on her hucks, set up the entire undergame by rocking it deep.

UA: 10-2, they threw a zone on us, and we proceeded to walk it up the field in 6 throws, and 30 seconds. we were patient and make great cuts; it was a thing of beauty Favorite moment: Jess hand blocks a girl, and it travels 90 degrees perpendicular to another UA girl for a perfect swing pass. MVP: Allie, hand of glue, sharp cuts, hard marks…this game really showed how much of a BAMF Allie has become on the fields

ASU: 9-5, ASU continues to improve, and gave us a run for our money. we didn’t start the game with much intensity, and we lost focus for about 20 minutes but we kicked it up when we had to, forced them into some silly throws, and made some great catches when we had to. MVP: Rosie, I cant remember which games she laid out in the back of the end zone and caught the score…oh because it happened in like all of them…this game she had some phenomenal hucks too so she gets the nod here

Phoenix Club (Championship) 9-7, Looking for revenge, Phoenix club came out playing hard (even though we took 1st point with a layout from Rosi), and were up 5-4, before “we decided we wanted it more,” played some shutdown d, some beautiful cutting, and finally got back to the fundamentals of the HoZo. MVP: Janelle. The little one played out of her gourd all day, catching/cutting (and hucking!?!) like Ive never seen before. She was crucial in winning this game.

Most Improved: Flaimy/Alex… Flaimy came into her own as a handler, making great decisions, swings, and catching everything! Alex, cut and caught like a champ, repeatedly skying girls, and catching hucks.

Of Note:

the harassin’ Alaskan’ lived up to her name, by continuing to shut girls down on D, and chalked up some scores to go with it.

moist n’ creamy set up the offense, and initiated all scores within 20 yards of the end zone

kimber rocked several scores, all set up off of continuation cuts within the hozo

twinkles established herself as a bonafide handler, making great decisions and tossing several scores

watson decided that she wanted the world to know that she handle to: tossing a couple awesome 40 yarders, and kept the offense going with her dump cuts.

blackjack also decided today to show that she can cut the crap out of her defender and get open. when it was too easy for her she also liked to catch scores out of bounds just for fun.
